Job Summary Under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, this position is responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, execution and completion of projects specific to the Pharmacy division of the company. This position manages the critical conversion of the Pharmacy claims processing platform with the Company’s PBM. The position understands the requirement for flexibility, and accommodates shifting priorities while representing and supporting Pharmacy in planning, directing, managing and coordinating administrative duties of the Company. This position performs functions, including but not limited to, managing and documenting project implementation, coordinating meetings/events, processing reports, preparing presentations, and other duties necessary to support the major project. This position is also responsible for the training of staff related to new processing requirements, supports Internal Customer Service, coordinates new Benefit set up with the Pharmacy’s PBM, and supports IT Pharmacy Analyst. Performs day-to-day responsibilities with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment and maintaining confidentiality. Position performs a variety of duties while maintaining a positive professional attitude.
Essential Functions
  • Manages and administers implementation of Pharmacy Department’s new claims processing platform for Medicare and Commercial business.
  • Educates and trains internal staff regarding pharmacy benefits, policy changes or guideline revisions.
  • Conducts meetings to support the project and obtain buy in from all parties involved with the project.
  • Composes and formats documents ranging from simple to complex formats.
  • Interfaces with peers and offers support when required to accomplish large or time-sensitive tasks or in the event of an absence or vacancy.
  • Encourages and promotes a good work environment by emphasizing the need to maintain quality standards and goals while delivering superior service and production.
  • Develops and manages project plan for internal customer implementation projects
  • Defines resources and schedule for project/program implementation.
  • Creates strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Performs project assessments and evaluations.
  • Efficiently identifies and solves project issues.
  • Design and maintain technical and project documentation.
  • Ensure contract compliance by raising appropriate issues to management to ensure all services noted in contract are delivered in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinate and facilitate status meetings with appropriate staff.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to peers as needed.
Qualifications • Experience with a PBM or interacting with a PBM • Experience using the RxClaim processing system • Experience with Medicare Part D • Understanding of project management principles required. • Maintains high-level of proficiency in required software applications: Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional. • Experience in training individuals regarding new processes • High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality • Strong prioritizing and multi-tasking skills • Strong analysis skills, ability to evaluate customer requirements and modify existing solution • Detailed knowledge of Pharmacy Operating Systems fundamentals. • Strong written/oral communications skills, including advanced grammar, punctuation, spelling and proofing skills. • Strong presentation and negotiation skills. • Ability to work on multiple tasks/project simultaneously. • Ability to work independently. • Bachelors Degree preferred
Physical Qualifications 1. Must be able to work under pressure from deadlines and goals 2. Must be able to spend a large part of the day sitting at cube, desk or table 3. Requires repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement 4. Occasional lifting (< 25 lbs)
